the great flaming pumpkin

Halloween has come and gone but not without snapping some of my flaming pumpkin series. Like last year, our friend and neighbor, Joe, rigged these pumpkins for a fiery display. I'll give myself credit for the carving, but let's face it, Joe "Bill Nye" Bartlett takes the cake getting these gourds good to go. I'm including a slide show on the right where you can see all of the photos, but these are my favorite. Fire photographs so well I couldn't pick just one. I missed so much of my favorite fall activities this year: hikes, apple picking, pie baking, Halloween decorating, costumes, etc. with all the wedding planning that's been going on, but I'm siked I managed to check this one off the list.
